About Erin Dertner’s Art

For those that have a yearning for peace and beauty, Erin Dertner delights in capturing stand-still moments in time in idyllic places, like Bees N Blooms. She particularly loves to paint flower fields, European and Mediterranean villages, gardens, vineyards and all places bright and beautiful. Creating dramatic lighting, captivating expanses and dreamlike backdrops are some of the things that drive her to create art that evokes the feeling of peace and tranquillity. We love how she captures the natural beauty of the land at Bees N Blooms. Erin’s art exhibit will be set up in the Event Center (#15 on the farm map), so come on in the gate and follow the signs for parking. Explore the farm and check out the farm stand while you’re here.

Butterfly Haven

The Butterfly Haven is the latest garden project at Bees N Blooms and it is in full swing at this time of year! Planted with host plants and nectar sources for local butterflies, the garden is awash in fall bloom. Shaped like a giant Monarch butterfly, the garden lures you in with lush foliage and abundant bloom. Keep a close eye out for fluttering wings and you may see Monarch butterflies, Common Buckeyes, Swallowtails, skippers, and more.

Fall at the Farm Stand

For all of the gardeners out there, it’s time to get those fall-planted perennials in the ground! Fall is a great time to plant, with still enough warmth in the soil to allow plants to grow their roots out and give them a head-start in spring. We’ve got lots of lavender plants propagated from the labyrinth varieties, passionflower vines, Thunderhead Sedum, White Sage, American Beautyberry, monkeyflower, Gaillardia, and basil for your kitchen.

We also have some new lavender bath and body care products–lavender bath bombs, lotion, body oil, soap and sugar scrub. Also, some really nice lavender teas.

The gourd harvest is in too! Get some unusual porch decorations for fall with these wacky gourds. We’ll have a few dried gourds from last year for your art projects too!

We hope to see you on the farm!

  1. Can our dogs accompany us?

    • Hi Mae,

Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome on open-farm days. If you do bring a dog, we require that you keep them on leash at all times. We have cats, chickens, geese, and ducks that may be out and about, and we want them to stay safe. Please bring supplies to clean up after your dog. And please don’t allow your pet to use the turf areas in the Labyrinth or North Pavilion as a bathroom. People love to sit on the grass and we want to keep it free of waste. To prevent food crop contamination, dogs are not permitted in the vegetable garden at all.
      Best,

  2. You don’t mention honey. Will you have some for sale?

    • Hi Nancy,

We’ll have several Sonoma County honeys for sale. We have done a preliminary harvest from our own hives, and have some summer honey from Bees N Blooms, as well as honey from Straight Line Apiary and the Sonoma County Bee Company.

      Hope you can make it!

      Best,

      Susan
