Lavender Daze 2024

Mid-May to mid-July is the time when all the lavender at Bees N Blooms is blooming with bright purple radiance, and we open the farm to the public for Lavender Daze! This is the best time to come out to enjoy all that the farm has to offer, especially the lovely labyrinth. Because  of the many different varieties of lavender, we have bloom from mid-May through mid-July. The farm is open during Lavender Daze on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Reservations are required during lavender bloom, to ensure we have sufficient parking and that our guests have a wonderful experience.  Admission is $15 per person on most dates, $20 per person on days with the band, May 26, June 16, and July 14. Kids 12 and under are free with an adult. Tickets can be used any time during open hours on that day and can be purchased through our Online Store. Lavender Sunset Evenings are on selected Wednesdays from 6 PM to 9 PM on June 5, June 12, and July 3. Tickets are $15 for anyone older than 12.

The peak lavender bloom for each variety of lavender varies, depending on the weather. Check the Lavender Bloom Status page to see the progression of bloom for this year. This page also links to Lavender Bloom Status from previous years, so you can see the variation.

Highlights of Lavender Daze

Jazz on the Farm with the John Kalleen Jazz Group:
We’re thrilled to have the John Kalleen Jazz Group visiting the farm on May 26 (Memorial Day weekend), June 16 (Father’s Day), and July 14 (Bastille Day) during lavender bloom. Plan an outing and bring a lunch to enjoy in the Pavilion with jazz on the farm! The John Kalleen Group is a classic ”Blue Note Era” jazz quintet! They offer fresh compositions, echoing the admired hard bop and post-bop eras of the 50s, 60s and 70’s but infused with a modern, dynamic spark. They deliver swinging, spirited arrangements of the classics from those eras. In an age of pickup bands, where “group performance” often means an assemblage of soloists trading licks, the JKG is instead a true ensemble, a quintet of musicians who rehearse and arrange together to create the kind of flowing, harmonious interplay, joyous power and full-bodied sound that comes only from a mutual, enduring dedication. Put more simply, the JKG is a tight, creative band that swings like mad and is a blast to listen to!

Peak bloom in the labyrinth:
Between late May and mid- to late June, the English lavender varieties in the labyrinth light up with brilliant purples, classic lavender, whites, and pinks as they come into full bloom. Each circle in the labyrinth is a different variety of lavender–a beautiful sight to see!  From late June to mid-July, the Grosso lavender field comes into peak bloom and is perfect for the Lavender U-Cut Experience (see below).

Lavender at Sunset: June 5, June 12, and July 3, 6 PM to 9 PM
There’s no better time than a glowing sunset to experience the full beauty of lavender. This year, we’re opening the farm on selected evenings during bloom time to share the beauty. Bring a camera, bring friends, and bring a dinner to enjoy in the Pavilion as you watch the sun set.

The Lavender U-Cut Experience and Best-Dressed Contest: June 28-30, July 5-7, and July 12-14
The French lavender variety Grosso is the best for long-lasting fragrance, and we have three-quarters of an acre of it, as well as some new (very purple!) varieties. We open the Grosso field for the Lavender U-Cut Experience late June through mid-July, when it is in peak bloom. U-Cut bundles are $5 each during our U-Cut days (June 28-30, July 5-7, and July 12-14). Come dressed to the nines to compete in the Best-Dressed Contest, with great lavender prizes from the Farm Stand!
