Taking Pictures At Bees N Blooms

Welcome, and thank you for considering Bees N Blooms as your photo-taking destination. We are happy to share this gorgeous location with you. Below are our options for photography sessions:

  • Formal: If you would like to have the space to yourself, ensuring that no one will be in the background and/or if you want to take pictures outside of our public open-farm days, and/or if you need to set up special equipment, you must make a reservation at least three days in advance. Reservations can be made for any time, but the light is often best in the evening as the sun is setting over the fields. We do allow drone photography as well. For any photography by a professional photographer, we will need a certificate of insurance from the photographer naming Bees N Blooms as an additional insured. We charge $50 per hour. Contact us to let us know your preferred date and how many hours you wish to reserve. We will send you an invoice, which you will need to prepay before arriving.
  • Informal: If you do not care about people being in the background, please feel free to take pictures during our open farm days. No professional photography is permitted during open-farm times, as it interferes with our other visitors’ experience at the farm. No drone photography is permitted during open-farm times to ensure the safety of our other visitors. Check the sidebar menu for open-farm dates and times. We do not charge for this and do not need photographer’s insurance.

If you would like to take pictures with lavender in the background, early to mid June is the best time for peak lavender bloom inside the Labyrinth. In early to mid July, we harvest the lavender in the Labyrinth, pruning back the flower spikes. Peak lavender bloom in the Grosso lavender field is late June to mid July, with harvest in early August. To see the status of our lavender bloom, please be sure to check the Lavender Bloom Status page. After the lavender is harvested, there are still many other flowers on the farm that may serve as a lovely backdrop for your photos.
