School Field Trips

Experience the farm as a living classroom!

Children’s Tours at Bees N Blooms are offered to school programs, homeschooling pods and other groups of children. Each tour includes:

  • Hands on-activities, covering key concepts in science, environment, and health.
  • Lessons are tailored age-appropriately to support academic, social and emotional development, as well as caring for the earth and animals.
  • Tour of a working organic farm and exploring the largest Lavender Labyrinth in California
  • Free lavender sachet that the children make themselves
  • Seasonal Garden Activities, varying depending on the season

Please note: 1 adult to every 3 children is required for this location (1:3 ratio). No food will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own and have a picnic in the Pavilion. Bathrooms are available. Reservations are required two weeks prior to the tour date. No refunds for cancellations made five days or less prior to the tour.

*Special Note: The seasonal garden activities vary depending on the time of year and which tour is selected. Some of the activities children participate in include: starting seeds, transplanting, weeding, watering, amending soil, harvesting, deadheading, saving seeds, and more.

Program Offerings

1) Farm Animal Life

1 hour and 30 minutes @ $300.00 for 6 to 10 children or $450 for 11-20

This tour will lead children through the life of the farm animals at Bees N Blooms, learning what they need in order to live and how they help the organic farm with its overall health. We will visit the vegetable garden and Poultry Palace, full of feathered friends, such as chickens, ducks and geese. The children will help feed the chickens and engage in hands-on activities that bring learning to life. After taking care of the animals, we will venture to the Lavender Labyrinth where we will rest, play and make lavender sachets.

2) The Buzz About Bees

1 hour and 30 minutes @ $300.00 for 6 to 10 children or $450 for 11-20

This tour will lead children through the life of honeybees at Bees N Blooms, learning what they need to live, how they help the organic farm and how honey is harvested by beekeepers. We will safely visit hives to see honeybees at work and look at professional beekeeper equipment. The children will engage in hands-on activities that will bring the learning to life. After learning about the life of bees, we will venture to the Lavender Labyrinth where we will rest, play and make lavender sachets.

3) Farm Life Immersion

2 hours and 30 minutes @ $500.00 for 6 to 10 children or $650 for 11 to 20

Combine Tours 1 and 2 for an extended farm visit.

4) Full Farm Adventure

3 hours and 30 minutes @ $600.00 for 6 to 10 children or $750 for 11 to 20

This hands-on field trip will lead children on a journey to experience the full breadth of what Bees N Blooms has to offer. In this full farm tour, it will include all of the activities and experiences from Tours 1 and 2, with the addition of Farm Bingo Discovery to develop children’s map-reading skills. Amongst many activities, we will adventure out to the Butterfly Garden, which is home to pollinator-specific plants that serve as a sanctuary for various native butterflies. Also there is a pond and willow dome for making observations and bird-watching. Children will learn about the life cycle of a butterfly. We will end the tour at the Lavender Labyrinth for an unforgettable journey. Children can take home a handmade lavender sachet and knowledge to last a lifetime!
