About Our Staff

Susan Kegley is the co-owner of Bees N Blooms, with her husband Geoff. Susan’s background as a PhD chemist and founder of the Pesticide Research Institute, has inspired and informed the creation of the farm. She, Geoff, and staff are demonstrating healthier, organic agricultural practices that sustain animals, plants, and people alike. She loves farming and beekeeping because they provide a never-ending source of engagement with nature, opportunities for puzzle-solving, observation, learning new things, and having access to breathtaking beauty and wonder. When she’s not busy like a bee, Susan can be found chasing ducks out of her vegetable garden and cuddling with baby geese.

Seth Gowans

Seth Gowans is the owner of Sidekick Flowers, leasing his growing space from Bees N Blooms and bringing additional beauty to the  property and cut flowers to our farm stand. He helps out on the farm as part of the Agricultural Operations Team. In search of agricultural knowledge and education, Seth found his way to Northern California 6 years ago, moving from his home-state of Idaho.  After an apprenticeship at Love Apple Farms in Santa Cruz, and two seasons farming for a Bay Area Michelin Starred restaurant, Seth began working at Bees N Blooms in the Spring of 2017 and was promoted to farm manager in spring 2019. In the fall of 2019, Seth started Sidekick Flowers, leasing land here at Bees N Blooms. He grows his own local flowers and works with Gather Flora and other local flower growers to supply the San Francisco Flower Mart with Sonoma County’s most beautiful export. When he is not at the farm, Seth can be found at a local dog-friendly beach with his sidekick pup Mika.
