Calling All Green Thumbs!

We are about halfway through our Garden Workshop series, with four workshops to go!  Learn about how to get control of those pesky weeds and bugs, how to amend your soil to get maximum harvests of vegetables and blooms, how to set up and maintain your own irrigation system, and how to get control of the rodents before they overtake your gardens and chicken coops. With planting season on the horizon, weeds are already sprouting, the soil will be drying out soon, and pests are gearing up for the warmer weather ahead. Here are the remaining workshops that will set you and your garden up for success this season:

Organic Weed and Insect Management
Saturday, March 2, 2024, 10 AM to 12:30 PM

The weeds are winning! And the bugs won’t be far behind! March is a key month to get control of your weeds and start thinking about managing insect pests. This session will focus on organic methods for managing weeds and insects.

Amending Your Soil
Sunday, March 3, 2024, 1 PM to 3 PM (Important Update: “Amending Your Soil” was rescheduled to this date).

Planting season is almost here, and now more than ever, it is essential to know your soil is ready for those seedlings. This workshop’s focus is on using soil test results to create an amendment mix that will provide for optimum growth potential. Previously purchased tickets are still redeemable.

Irrigation Setup and Management
Saturday, March 9, 2024, 10 AM to 12:30 PM

As the rain is tapering off, you’ll need to get your garden set up for irrigation! This session will focus on how to set up and maintain an irrigation system that matches your water supply. You’ll learn about pressure and flow and how it relates to how you set up your watering system.

Organic Rodent Management
Saturday, March 16, 2024, 10 AM to 12:20 PM

It’s mid-spring and the rodents are on the move. Time to get control of the situation! This session will focus on organic methods for managing rodents in and around your garden by prevention and trapping.

Other Farm News

Our first open-farm day of the season is March 30! After that, we’ll be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Stop by and shop the selection of certified organic tomato and pepper plants and bee-friendly flowers for your garden! Don’t forget to visit the chickens and take time for a stroll in the labyrinth. Free admission until the start of Lavender Daze on May 18th. Spring will be here soon!
