Fall at the Farm

With the first rain that fell, it’s starting to really feel like fall! Which means it’s time for the Sonoma County Fall Farm Trails Tour—this year on the weekend of October 14-15. Bees N Blooms will be opening the farm to the public on this weekend, so come on out! We’re having our fall perennial plant sale and offering guided tours as well. Read on for more.

Farm Trails Weekend, October 14-15, 10AM to 4PM

Every spring and fall, local farm members of Sonoma County Farm Trails open their gates and barn doors to offer a taste of life on the farm. To find out which farms are open and to construct your tour, register at the Farm Trails website. It’s free to register and helps the farms prepare for visitors. Here at Bees N Blooms, we’ll have some fun things for our visitors to do on the farm. Admission to the farm is free; guided tours are $5 per person.

Guided Tours

We’ll have three guided tours going on Farm Trails weekend, at 11AM and 1PM. Reserve your ticket for $5 per person.

  • The Buzz About Bees, 11AM and 1PM both days: Learn what the bees are doing at this time of year as they prepare for winter. Includes a visit to the top-bar beehive with a window, so you can see the bees at work.
  • Preparing your garden for winter, 1PM both days: Fall is a busy time in the gardens here at Bees N Blooms, as we use the principles of regenerative agriculture to boost our soil health, beat the weeds, give perennials a head start, make sure the native bees are taken care of, and make the farm resilient in the face of winter rains. Join us to learn how to apply these techniques to your own garden!
  • Lavender Processing, 11AM both days: The lavender is all harvested and ready for transformation into essential oil and fragrant sachets. Learn about different lavender varieties and how we process our lavender here at Bees N Blooms to make lavender buds and lavender essential oil and hydrosol.
