Harvest Appreciation

Thanks to the help of many gracious people, we have finished harvesting all of the lavender on the property! We are so grateful to all who joined us over the course of three days, helping us cut, bundle, and hang all of our Grosso lavender, and the various varieties of lavender in the labyrinth. In total, we harvested approximately 6,000 lavender bundles! We couldn’t have done it without all the help and our amazing staff. Thank you!

Going forward, our next steps with the lavender will be to allow it to dry, de-bud the dried bundles using our fabulous Besel Lavender Debudder machine, and then to transform the buds into sachets and our amazing organic lavender oil and hydrosol. We love the lavender plant–it provides so much joy for the senses. And, the bees love it too!

We will have lovely dried bundles of lavender for sale in the farm stand, starting this weekend. And, since there was  such a high demand for our Learn About Lavender tour offered a few weekends ago, we have decided to hold a day of tours on Labor Day, September 7th! Stay tuned for more information about that in our next post.

  1. We love lavenders, anything lavenders. Surprisingly, what we enjoyed most during the harvest was not just the lavenders, but working with the team of amazing staff of Bees and Blooms 🙂 All of you are so passionate and knowledgeable about what you are doing. Hard work, but fun.

    • Hi Gem,

We really enjoyed working with you too!! So great to meet you and your family. Thanks for carrying us through the end of the harvest! We hope to see you again soon!

  2. I enjoyed the all about lavender tour. It was so informative! I hope you do other educational related things in the future! Would love something on bees or growing cut flowers/pollinator plants. Maybe something on organic gardening. I’m so happy to have discovered your farm!
