Lavender Love

The Lavender Labyrinth is in peak bloom now, with 6 of the 7 varieties of lavender in full  bloom. Check out the Lavender Bloom Status page to see the latest photos, and plan a visit to get the full sensory experience of lavender fragrance, bees happily buzzing, and a range of purple hues. The outer ring of the labyrinth (Hidcote Giant) and the 1-acre field of Grosso lavender bloom a few weeks later, so there will be bloom for quite a while.

The news this week has been disturbing and I’m sure people are trying to understand how we landed here and how we can move forward to make productive change. My friend Karen Cappa had a valuable insight that I wanted to share:

I see this again as an opportunity for us to open our hearts really wide and come from a place of open-hearted love and peace, not hatred and fear. I cannot make these things go away, but I can be gentle, kind, loving and careful with what I say to others so that I do not cause pain. We all can, and we must because it is the right thing to do for everyone to survive this volatile time.

The labyrinth can be helpful in times like this. A meditative walk following the single half-mile path to the center provides time to reflect on events and sort through one’s thoughts to plot a course of productive action. Surrounded by the beauty of Nature, your mind calms and your thoughts gain clarity and focus.

We welcome you with open arms.
