Come on out to the farm over Fourth of July Weekend, July 2-3! Immerse yourself in summertime blooms during the Lavender U-Cut Experience, when we open up our Grosso lavender field for guests to harvest their own bundles. Get your tickets here! Stroll the flower gardens & find petals that are red, white, and blue… and every color of the rainbow! We’ll have live music from Spike Sikes & the Awesome Hotcakes (July 2) and The Silver Starlings (July 3) in the Pavilion. Bring a picnic and enjoy the music surrounded by sweet, lavender ambiance! If you’re a jazz fan, the weekend of July 9 and 10 is for you. See below for more info.
Enter our Best-Dressed Lavender Daze Contest on any of our remaining open-farm days. Plan your outfit to wow the onlookers and your friends on Instagram! Prizes awarded! Check out this blog post for specifics.
For the Lavender U-Cut Experience, we provide clippers and guidance on how to cut. The terrain is a bit rough and there are bees in the lavender field, so we strongly recommend close-toed shoes to keep the bees out of your toes! Lavender bunches are $5 each. A few safety notes:
1) If you have a life-threatening bee-sting allergy, you will not be allowed in the cutting field. We have a lovely shady place to hang out while your friends cut a bunch of lavender for you. Photos NEAR the field (but not IN it) are OK.
2) Children under 5 are not permitted in the cutting field. Good shady spots are available to sit with kids. Children must be supervised by an adult. There are also many fun kid-things to do on the farm that are not in the cutting field.
3) Dogs are not permitted in the cutting field. The staff will happily dog-sit for you while you cut.

Spike Sikes and His Awesome Hotcakes
July 2, Saturday
Like hotcakes themselves, this kind of music goes by many names. Soul. Swing. Rhythm & Blues. Jazz. Jump. It’s a sound that’s classic and simple, but when it’s done right, it hits the spot, and has you grinning from ear to ear.
The Silver Starlings
July 3, Sunday
A collaboration of Petaluma musicians that share a love for 3 part harmony! Retro Rock & originals.
And coming up NEXT WEEK!
NEXT WEEK is our LAST Open-Farm Weekend for the Summer!
July 9, Saturday: Chris Amberger and the Hot Dogs, featuring The Young Brats! Dylan Hayes-Keys & Xavier Lecouturier-Drums
Music inspired from around the world with a definite classic modern, sophisticated, and original sound of joyous energy not to be missed! Exciting well-tempered bassist Chris Amberger toured and recorded with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, George Shearing Quintet, and the Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra.
July 10, Sunday: John Kalleen Group
Classic ”Blue Note Era” jazz quintet! They offer fresh compositions, echoing the admired hard bop and post-bop eras of the 50s, 60s and 70’s but infused with a modern, dynamic spark. They deliver swinging, spirited arrangements of the classics from those eras.
