Organic Trees

Bees N Blooms grows pollinator-attractive, drought-tolerant, organic trees for sale to cities, towns, businesses and individuals. Our focus is on producing trees that provide pesticide-free food for pollinators and are good for city streets, parking areas, and back yards. We only grow tree varieties that are not hosts for invasive pests and thereby avoid the need to treat our nursery products with systemic insecticides prior to transport, as required by California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) for quarantine purposes.*

Because Bees N Blooms trees are grown without systemic insecticides known to be toxic to bees and other pollinators, they will provide the safe forage and shelter currently needed by city-dwelling birds and pollinators. Most tree varieties are suitable for planting in Zones 8–11, primarily California and the Southwest U.S.

Here is our list of trees currently in production:

  • Red Flowering Gum, Corymbia ficifolia
  • Thornless Honey Locust, Gleditsia triacanthos
  • Red Maple, Acer rubrum X Freemanii ‘Autumn Blaze’
  • Silver Linden, Tilia tomentosa
  • Purple Chaste tree, Vitex agnus-castus

*For certain tree and shrub species, CDFA requires nurseries to treat plants with a soil drench of systemic insecticides and a foliar spray with another insecticide prior to sale, to avoid spreading pests within the state or across state lines.
